The ripples of the waves washed away the old ways
All the pieces that didn’t serve me
with
The peace of ever-moving tides
That smooth pebbles and hard granite.
There has never been a moment
That filled my heart
Like the full light of the moon
Emerging from the clouds
And radiating down upon me,
The only sound
The crashing of waves upon rock,
The reflection of moonbeams dancing
In the ripples,
Hypnotic, mysterious and holy.
Silence so pure and broken
With the soft ring of harbor bells
Wind whistling through pines
Hum of the breathless sea.
The night sky lit up
By the dazzling moon
Her light descended into my heart
The waves washed away my pain
And for the first time
I felt holy.
